Description:

One of the premier museums in Central New York, the Everson Museum of Art features over 11,000 pieces of classic and contemporary American art. Highlights at the museum are Gilbert Stuart's portraits of George Washington, Edward Hicks' "The Peaceable Kingdom," and the Syracuse China Center, one of the largest collections of American ceramics in the world. It also has a Children's Interactive Gallery, where children can explore the world of visual art and create their own art in a number of mediums. The museum is located in the southeast corner of downtown, near the Oncenter Complex convention center and just a mile northwest of Syracuse University.
